My Experience With Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle
I suggest you read my story to get the full picture. However, to cut a long story short I felt ashamed and uncomfortable in my own body. Since I worked in an office job, a large portion of my day was spent sitting down. I remember feeling bloated and self-conscious when my "belly rolls" pushed together while I was seated. I had very little energy, I felt lousy and I was depressed.
I started looking for solutions online using all of the usual places (forums, articles and google etc) and tried to soak up as much info as I could. I started a training routine, cleaned up my diet and charged full speed ahead.
The months went by and although I seemed to make great progress at first, I kept hitting a wall and began sabotaging my results for no apparent reason. From that point, it became easy to throw my hands in the air and say "this doesn't work", "I'm always going to be fat", "I either do this right, or not at all". And another thought-process I remember all to well "Ok I've messed up my diet today, so I might as-well mess it up in style and start again next week".
This frustrating cycle of inconsistency and self-sabotage continued for almost 2 years. This was one of my earlier pics while I was actually exercising (believe it or not!)
Nothing I tried seemed to work, but the truth was I never gave any plan a fair trial. I sabotaged every plan and started over, I just didn't understand WHY though. So after another year down the line, I still looked like this….
I wasn’t prepared to give up however. So after yet another binge, I went in search for more info online. I came across a guy named Tom Venuto, I scrolled through the pitch on his site which looked like every other cheesy, full of false-promises fitness sites out there. So I thought to myself "Yeah yeah, I’ve heard all of these types of claims before HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?!” At the time, I thought the eBook was over-priced, especially considering it wasn't a phyiscal product and that there's a ton of free info on the internet.
So I didn't bother with Burn the Fat and continued looking through forums etc to find the latest routines and diets. Inevitably, I wasted many more months going round in circles doing the same thing… Dieting & training > Self-sabotaging > Square 1 > Searching for more info > Starting a new plan > Rinse and Repeat.
Fast-forward several months later and I encountered Tom Venuto again and began reading his blog articles. I agreed with a lot of what he had to say, and after doing a load of research on both the book and Tom, as-well as on a few trust-worthy recommendations, I decided to give the book a try.
Well they say "A picture is worth a thousand words" and after applying the advice in the book, I took my physique from this
To this
I dropped 10 inches off my waist in several months. I know this isn't super fast progress compared to some people, but for me it brought tears to my eyes when I finally broke that cycle of self-sabotage.
3 months later, after continuing to use the Burn the Fat principles, I continued to get better results
Words can’t even begin to describe how great It felt when I actually started following through with things consistently, when I could see visible progress from picture to picture. In hindsight, I've realised that no amount of knowledge can compensate for a lousy mindset, the body follows where the mind leads. I realised that I'd been asking the wrong questions i.e. what's the best diet programme, what's the best training routine and so forth. When the real question is "what will make me stick with my diet and training consistently?"
Final Comments
I can wholeheartedly acknowledge Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle as being the single greatest influence on my body transformation. Without this book, I would still be sabotaging my fat loss efforts today and I would still look exactly the same as I did in my first picture. I genuinely can't put a price on the value this book has provided me, it has helped me to transform my body and my life.
Overall Rating: 10/10
