Wishful Thinking

Wishful thinking is the persistence in a belief or ideal that an individual wishes to be true, yet lacks the evidence / facts to support what they wish to believe. Not all forms of wishful thinking are entirely obstinate, however; there are cases in which individuals strive to achieve feats that were previously thought to be impossible – without evidence to support feasibility – that require some degree of wishful thinking / faith.
